England take on Spain in the Nations League on Saturday evening and Gareth Southgate has been left with some key selection decisions to make, the overarching theme being whether he should stick with the clan of players who performed so admirably at the World Cup or attempt to evolve his side with the introduction of younger players.
Jesse Lingard is by no means an old-timer at the age of 25 but there is an even younger alternative nipping at his heels in the pecking order in the form of Chelsea youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The 22-year-old, who Transfermarkt value at £16.2million, was fantastic for Crystal Palace last season and impressed in patches at the World Cup as well – although Lingard was easily one of England’s players of the tournament, always busy in midfield and netting a stunner against Panama.
With that in mind, we asked fans earlier this week whether Lingard or Loftus-Cheek should start against Spain and it was the latter who came out on top in our poll with 57% of the vote. Who else would you start on Saturday night, England fans? Let us know by commenting below…
