With Alexandre Lacazette picking up an injury in the 5-0 win over Huddersfield, Arsene Wenger has a key decision to make ahead of Manchester United’s visit to the Emirates Stadium in Saturday’s 5.30pm kickoff.
Losing his star summer signing is a huge blow for the Arsenal boss ahead of such an important game, but the Frenchman does, at the very least, have some decent backup options to call upon in Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck.
It’s just a question of deciding between the two, so we posed that exact question to Gunners supporters earlier this week – asking whether Giroud or Welbeck should start when the north Londoners host Jose Mourinho’s side.
And our poll revealed that although opinion is relatively split, the majority of Arsenal fans are leaning towards the 6 foot 1 England international. That may have something to do the fact Welbeck has a pretty decent scoring record against his former club – netting twice in three Premier League appearances since swapping Old Trafford for the Gunners.
