Ibrahim Afellay has put his move to the Premier League on ice for the time being, and will wait until the summer to fulfil his ambitions.
The talented Dutchman is in the final year of his contract and it is believed that he will see out the remaining months of his current deal with PSV before looking to fulfil his ambition of playing in the Premier League.
“The transfer deadline is closed, so nothing new will happen now. All I can do is focus on PSV and I will continue to do so. And it looks now as if I will stay at Eindhoven until the end of the season.” Elf Voetbal
The Premier League beckons for Afellay as the player came out spoke of his desire to play in England, despite Wesley Sneijder publically doing his level best today to dissuade his international teammate. It appears that Liverpool and Manchester United are two teams that interest Afellay the most as both provide a top level prospect for any player.
“Playing in the Premier League would be best for my prestige. I’d like to play for Liverpool or Manchester United, the top-level prospect for any player.” (Daily Mail)
