da betobet: The Scottish Cup’s official Twitter account recently posted a tweet praising Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon’s “inspired performance” in the Hoops’ 2018 Scottish Cup semi-final victory which has caught the attention of many Celtic supporters.
da prosport bet: Some Hoops fans have flocked to this tweet to disagree with the Scottish Cup’s assessment of Gordon’s performance in this game, with some claiming that the goalkeeper doesn’t deserve that much praise for his role in Celtic’s win.
After taking the lead in the 22nd-minute of the game through a Tom Rogic goal, Celtic didn’t look back in this derby clash, going on to put another three goals past their rivals to ensure that they secured a place in the 2017/18 Scottish Cup final in fashion, as they stormed to a 4-0 semi-final win.
Considering that Celtic ultimately came away from this game with a comfortable victory thanks to their goalscoring efforts, it might be understandable why some Hoops supporters feel that the goalkeeper shouldn’t receive too much praise for his role in the win.
However, as stated by the BBC in their post-match report for this game, Rangers did get “three glorious chances in succession” which forced the Celtic goalkeeper to pull off “three wonderful stops”.
Had Gordon not been on form and had Rangers managed to take these “three glorious chances”, it might be fair to say that this game may not look like as comfortable of a victory as it was for the Hoops. With that in mind, it may be fair to say that Gordon does deserve some credit for his performance in this semi-final clash.
