There were initial fears that Aston Villa midfielder Mile Jedinak would be on the sidelines for months, but manager Steve Bruce has provided a positive update.
The Australia international has returned to training following almost three weeks out with a shoulder injury.
Jedinak, who has started just two Championship games this season, suffered the problem during a 2-0 win over Ipswich Town.
The setback was made even worse for fans given that the 33-year-old had only recently scored a hat-trick for his national side in a World Cup playoff.
Bruce has not ruled Jedinak out of this weekend’s fixture against Millwall, but the Australian will need to be assessed before the manager decides on his matchday squad.
With just six appearances under Jedinak’s belt all season, Glenn Whelan has been occupying the midfield role.
It seems, though, that the fans are keen for the former to get a decent run in the team once he is fully fit.
