In recent years, pre-season friendlies have become an excuse for clubs to broaden their international fanbase and increase their brand awareness in all corners of the world.
Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool will be touring the USA this summer, while Chelsea will be heading to Australia as part of their season warm-up schedule.
Leeds United, who announced their summer fixture list on Thursday, have instead decided to keep things closer to home, much to the frustration of their fans.
Their pre-season programme consists of lower league visits to Forest Green Rovers, York City, Oxford United, Guiseley, and a home match against Las Palmas, and it’s safe to say their fans are underwhelmed.
