da premier bet:
da wazamba: Franco Baldini is understood to be set to reject Tottenham’s approach to make him their new technical director, reports the BBC.
Chairman Daniel Levy is keen to return to a continental structure at the club, similar to the approach they took when appointing Damien Comolli, who was dismissed in 2008.
Comolli had overall responsibility for the club’s academy, scouting and recommending transfer targets, but those jobs were held in unison by Levy and former manager Harry Redknapp after a replacement for the Frenchman was never found.
Baldini, 51, can speak excellent English and has a good relationship with Tottenham’s manager Andre Villas-Boas. His knowledge of European football and contacts throughout the game are assets that Levy sees as most appealing.
But it is thought that the former England general manager is keen to reject any advances, citing the reason that he wants to continue his work at Roma, the club he rejoined in 2011 after a stint as Director of Football between 1999 to 2005.
Andre Villas-Boas, who was linked to the Roma job this summer, is understood to be willing to work alongside a technical director.
