da bet vitoria: Stoke City will look to bounce back from their disappointing 2-2 draw against champions Leicester City at the Britannia Stadium when they face Premier League title hopefuls Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday.
da betsul: The Potters looked to be cruising to a straightforward home victory as they led the 10-man Foxes 2-0 with 15 minutes to go following the first half dismissal of Jamie Vardy. But goals from Leonardo Ulloa and Daniel Amartey cancelled out a penalty from Bojan and a Joe Allen tap-in as the visitors claimed an unlikely point.
It was Mark Hughes’ side second home draw in the space of three days and they will be looking to take all three points when they travel north to Merseyside.
It will be no easy task though, with Jurgen Klopp’s men currently lying second in the standings – six points behind leaders Chelsea.
Here are three reasons why Stoke will shock Liverpool at Anfield…
Reaction
Mark Hughes was visibly disappointed by the way his side sacrificed a two-goal lead against Leicester last weekend, and he will demand a reaction from his side when they make the trip to Anfield to face the Premier League title contenders.
The Welshman will surely have worked with his defence this week to try and eradicate the two soft goals they conceded against the champions as they come up against the top goalscorers in the league. Keeping the Reds attackers quiet in the early stages could be the key to picking up a positive result.
Liverpool’s defence
Despite sitting second in the Premier League standings, Liverpool have conceded 20 goals in their 17 matches – nine more than the leaders Chelsea and eight more than fifth-placed Tottenham.
While they may be free-scoring in attack, the Reds defence has shown it can be got at – Mark Hughes will certainly be taking a closer look at the capitulation against Bournemouth and West Ham’s 2-2 draw at Anfield earlier this month, where the Irons had little possession and few chances but took a point back to the capital.
Hughes will want his attacking players such as Xherdan Shaqiri and Bojan to punish their Merseyside opponents on Tuesday.
They’ve got Joe Allen
The Welsh midfielder struggled to get into the Liverpool team under Jurgen Klopp and decided to leave Anfield for regular first team football at Stoke during the summer – a move that has certainly paid off.
Allen is one of the Potters’ stars of the season and he is also their top goalscorer with five Premier League goals to his name.
The 26-year-old will certainly want to prove a point against his former club and he’s shown that he has the ability to score important goals – he netted Stoke’s equaliser in their 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier this term.
