Christie got the second and fourth in the Celts’ 5-0 demolition of the Estonian champions. The rout effectively means the Champions League tie is over with Neil Lennon’s men set to play in Estonia next Tuesday. One away goal would leave Nomme Kalju needing seven.
The midfielder was taken off before he had the chance to complete his hat-trick, substituted for want away midfielder Olivier Ntcham in the 71st minute.
But the 24-year-old has wasted little time this season asserting his authority on Lennon’s midfield. The former Inverness star has now bagged three goals and two assists in his three appearances for the Hoops so far this campaign.
It may be early and against average opposition but the creative midfielder could be on the cusp of a big season at Celtic Park after some encouraging displays, and is certainly looking like the man to take the crown from Tom Rogic as Lennon’s most advanced midfielder.
