da betsul: With the World Cup finished, for many football fans attention turns to the start of the 2018/19 Premier League and more importantly the transfer window.
da bet7k: The window for English clubs has actually been open since May 17th because of it’s new earlier closing date. But thanks to the World Cup, teams are only just starting the season’s preparation this week.
With clubs tasked with having their business done before the start of the season on August 10th, we can expect any exciting conclusion for most clubs.
In this article we take a look at what business has already been done without you realising it because you were wrapped up in World Cup fever!
Jorginho to Chelsea
Announced on the eve of the World Cup final, you could be forgiven for not realising Chelsea had splashed an estimated £57million on Napoli’s Jorginho.
The Brazilian midfielder will join up with Maurizio Sarri from Napoli and surely won’t be the only arrival at Stamford Bridge this summer.
Fabinho to Liverpool
They’ve spent a fortune since, acquiring the services of Alisson Becker and Xherdan Shaqiri, but Liverpool’s summer spending all started with the £44million signing of Monaco’s Fabinho.
Lee Grant to Manchester United
We bet this one slipped under your radar!
After being relegated with his club Stoke City in the last campaign, goalkeeper Lee Grant would have been desperate to stay in the Premier League. Surely even he was surprised when Manchester United came calling.
It is expected that Grant, who signed for a reported £1.5 million will be Jose Mourinho’s third choice keeper.
Ki Sung-yueng to Newcastle United
With his contract at relegated Swansea City ending on the 1st July, it was announced two days earlier that the South Korean would join Newcastle United.
The midfielder was influential in South Korea’s World Cup campaign, most notably their 2-0 win over Germany.
Gerard Deulofeu to Watford
Deulofeu spent the second half of last season at Watford on loan from Barcelona, and despite only seven appearances for the Hornets, they have made the move permanent.
The pacy winger will be hoping to have more of an impact on the league now that he has made the move permanent after three loan spells (two at Everton).
Ben Foster to Watford
Foster was a fan favourite in his two loan spells at the club between 2005-2007 and helped the club win promotion to the Premier League.
So when Foster’s West Bromwich Albion were relegated, a move back was always on the cards as he looked to stay in the top flight.
